2014 Report on China Mineral Resources
To improve the guarantee capability in mineral resources, the Chinese government has implemented National Exploration and Development Planning since 2011. We have invested accumulated capital of 350 billion yuan in prospection, including 141.3 billion yuan investment in minerals, and discovered a batch of important ore fields in the recent three years. The reserves of 22 types of mineral resources, including coal, natural gas, copper etc., among the 45 main types of mineral resources have increased by double-digit percentages. There has been considerable improvement in the capacity of the mineral resources to guarantee the development of the national economy.
In order to make the public better understanding the situation of exploration and exploitation of mineral resources, know more about the policy relating to mineral resources management on one hand, and to further accelerate the management function transition of the Ministry of Land and Resources, enhance the capacity of public service and impel the opening of administrative information on the other hand, the Ministry of Land and Resources prepared the Report on China Mineral Resources. The annual report systematically summarizes the significant achievements in the first stage of "National Exploration and Development Planning", emphatically introduces the main progress in geological mineral surveys and evaluations, exploration, development, and utilization of mineral resources, ecological civilization construction in mines, management of mineral resources etc., in China in 2013, analyses the situation of the mineral resources in China, partially reflects the latest dynamic state of the mineral resources situation in the first half year of 2014, elaborates the dynamic state of mineral resources management from mineral resources planning, exploration and mining rights, reserves, exploration, supervision etc., expounds the reform progress and essential policies from the system construction of laws and regulations for mineral resources,system of compensated use etc., presents the progress of China’s mining technical innovation from geological theories and technologies of exploration and exploitation of mineral resources, and summarizes the situation of international cooperation on mineral resources.
