Provide Full Support to the Security Supply of National Energy, Minerals, Water and other Strategic Resources.
Dedicate to Ecological Civilization Construction and Natural Resources Administration.
1.To plan and implement national basic and public geological investigation and prospective assessment of mineral resources. To organize and conduct national strategic mineral exploration and early-stage geological investigation for some major engineering projects as assigned by the Central Government.
2.To organize and carry out investigation s and assessments of hydrogeology, engineering geology and environmental geology. To implement gee-environment monitoring, geo- hazards investigation, forecasting and early warning, and prevention and treatment of specific geo-hazards.
3.To conduct frontier and basic geological researches and applied studies related to geological survey and mineral exploration. To develop, introduce and promote new technologies, new systems and new methods for geological survey and mineral exploration.
4.To formulate technical regulations, specifications, and standards for geological survey and mineral exploration , as entrusted by the Ministry of Natural Resources of china. TO organize and implement quality examination and supervision of major projects.
5.To establish information network system for geological survey and mineral exploration, and provide public services of geological data and digitalization of libraries and archives.
6.To carry forward international exchanges and cooperation on geological survey and resources assessment,and to conduct early-stage investigation for exploitation of overseas mineral resources.
7.To manage national public geological survey teams. To communicate with local public teams and guide their national geological projects.To Conduct supervision, inspection, and achievement management.
8.To complete the other tasks assigned by Ministry of Natural Resources of China.
