From March 23 to 31, 2019, the second "Lancang-Mekong Geoscience Week" & Geoscience Forum for langcang-Mekong Cooperation Countries was held in Beijing. Dr. Wang Kun, vice president of the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Leaders of the geological survey of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam attended the forum and fully exchanged their views on the status quo and the future of geosciences, and delivered speeches on "Strengthening geoscience cooperation and promoting green development".

During the event, the China Geological Survey has signed MOUs with Leaders of the geological survey of Myanmar and Thailand respectively. The five countries along the Mekong river reached consensus on cooperative mapping, etc. The Forum also held workshops on  natural resources  information sharing and sustainable development of water resources.
