First European Professional Geologist Training Held in Beijing

On April 2nd, “Future Mining, Sino-Italian Dialogue & 1st European Professional Geologist Training” was held in Beijing, being the first cooperation program implemented after the Chinese and Italian governments signed a MOU on jointly promoting the building of the Belt and Road.

The MOU was signed by the Chinese and Italian governments On March 21st, making Italy the first member of the Group of Seven (G7) to participate in the Initiative. With the support of the Italian Embassy in China, the first European Geologist Training was a success. Experts from the National Committee of the Italian Geologists, the Ministry of Economic Development, etc., conducted the training for professionals from the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Zijin Mining Group to cultivate the first European professional geologists for China.

Luca Fraticelli, Counselor of the Italian Embassy in China, said that the cooperation between the two governments has provided a broader space for future cooperation. With the cooperation mainly focusing on mining standards and geological talent training, he believed the future would see more cooperation and greater achievements. Dr. Wang Kun, vice president of the China Geological Survey, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
