Great Importance Attached to International Cooperation-As seen from China Mining 2014 held in Tianjin

On October 21, CHINA MINING 2014 opened at Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin, with the theme of Sustainable Development through Innovation, and will cover the whole mining value chain, including geological survey, exploration development, mining rights trading, mining investment and financing, green mining, comprehensive utilization of mineral resources and many more. More than 7000 delegates from over 50 countries & regions attended the event, including government officials, experts, scholars, mining companies and financial institutions. Keynote Session, Mining Minister Forum and the Mining Development Forum plus more than 30 Breakout Sessions and Country Investment Project Shows will be held.


The current global mining sunk into a deep adjustment; commodity prices are faced with downward pressure; geological exploration cool down. In this context, this year's CHINA MINING Congress and Expo attached great importance to international cooperation.
   

At the opening ceremony Canadian Ambassador Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques expressed that China's economy has developed rapidly in recent years and there is also a tremendous resource and energy demand with the advancement of infrastructure construction and urbanization. Canada is the world's largest mining country with rich mineral resources and good investment environment and also can provide advanced equipment, highly skilled technical personnel, as well as legal and other security-related services. Cooperation between the two countries can achieve common prosperity.



Chilean Ambassador Mr. Jorge Heine also expressed enthusiasm regarding mining cooperation with China. He said that Chile and China signed a free trade agreement in 2005 and trade between the two countries grew at an annual rate of 30 percent since then. Chile is rich in copper and a third of the country’s copper products are purchased by China. "We are very pleased to sell copper to China and hope that more Chinese companies go to invest in Chile." said Jorge.
 

South African Minister of Mineral Resources Ngoako Ramatlhodi pointed out that South Africa and China signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in August 2005, and have been maintaining a very good relationship. He also revealed that the country is now strengthening its energy project development and becomes more open. “The opening of these areas will benefit our entire mining industry."
   

Deputy Minister of Russian Natural Resources and Environment Denis Khramov said that Russia is unique in its mineral resources and China is Russia's reliable partner. "It takes priority in our foreign policy, economic and trade cooperation to carry out and expand cooperation with our Chinese counterparts and friends.” He also said that Russia and China would cooperate in geological exploration, making efforts to natural self-healing, natural resource utilization to benefit the people of the two countries.



CHINA MINING was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land & Resources, Tianjin Municipal People’s Government and China Mining Association, and has been included among the Asian top mining events and one of the world's four largest mining conferences.
