CGS Held the 3nd Lectures on Geological Survey by International Experts

    On 2014 March 17, China Geological Survey (CGS) held the 3nd Lectures on Geological Survey by International Experts and invited internationally well-known mineral deposit expert, professor David Leach from University of Western Australia and professor Douglas Wiens from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL ), engaged in Antarctic earthquake probing work in the US to deliver lectures. Both professors kept the audiences of the latest international research and progress in the fields of lead zinc mine and Antarctic seismology.

    This forum has built an international cooperation platform for China Geological Survey and scientific research institutes both at home and abroad to carry out the research in lead zinc mine and Antarctic seismology. After the forum, Professor David Leach paid a visit to Institute of Geology. Professor Douglas Wiens was kindly shown around Institute of Geomechanics, CGS and carried out in-depth cooperation with CGS experts in the field of natural seismic probing of Antarctic continent.

    Over 80 representatives from affiliated organizations in Beijing, Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Seismological Bureau, and China University of Geosciences attended the forum and conducted a heated academic discussion with international experts.
