Wangmin met with Australian Ambassador to China
The vice minister of MLR, director general of CGS Wangmin met with Australian Ambassador to China Sun Anfang on 24, April. The two sides have exchanged the possible cooperations in the fields of geology and mineral resources and reached consensus on the related issues.
Wangmin extended the warm welcome to the Australian delegation. He highly confirmed the good cooperations in administrative agencies of geology and mining, geological research institutions and mining companies between the two countries. He proposed the two sides maintaining high level of exchanges and making more efforts to establish ministerial-level cooperative mechanism, and hoped the two countries could conduct talks in terms of mining development. Wangmin noted that with 2014 being APEC China Year, he sincerely hoped that the two countries would enhance the communication and boost the cooperation in mining through multi-lateral international organizations, such as APEC; the two sides would make good use of such platforms as China Mining and Diggers and Dealers Conference, two of the four largest mining conferences across the globe, and strengthen information sharing in mining development; the two sides could work together to further expand scientific and technological exchanges and deepen the cooperation in the field of earth sciences between CGS and GA.
Sun Anfang made a positive response to the above proposals, and expressed the expectations from Australian side. She said that solid foundations had been built in areas of energy and mining, and more space was available for cooperation; she hoped that more talks and cooperation could be conducted at each level of geology and mining between China and Australia.
