During 2015 China Mining Congress & Expo, GeoExpl (International) software system for geological exploration data processing and analysis , which was independently developed by China Geological Survey（CGS）, has been officially released. GeoExpl is one of professional GIS software tool used for carrying out comprehensive utilization and analysis of geo-data in geological survey, researches on fundamental geological survey, mineral resources appraisal and forecast, geochemical data processing, geophysical data processing and interpretation, etc. This system adopts advanced technological systematic frame and powerful graphic processing engine, and is equipped with functions including information processing, data analysis, format conversion and thematic mapping in fields like geology, geography , geophysics, geochemistry and mineral resources.

The release of GeoExpl software mad a significant stride towards internationalization of China’s geological software, which has not only promoted the original system’s capacity for solving geological problems and upgrading software functions, but also realized free switch between software versions of different languages. It has constructed a geo-data processing platform for China to conduct geological exploration globally, met international geologists’ demands for carrying out relevant cooperation, geo-data sharing and exchange, and filled the blank in international cooperation on geo- data processing software.

At  China Mining Congress 2015, CGS has distributed nearly 300 sets of GeoExpl software of trial version for free, and made in-depth communication with geological experts from countries as Pakistan, Laos, Thailand, Peru and South Africa. The release of the software has laid solid foundation for follow-up software promotion, application demonstration and international cooperation and exchange.
