The compilation of the Geological Map of the Moon at the scale of 1：2,500,000 (Hongwan Sheet) was recently completed, and the outcome was published in both Chinese and English version.

The effort was jointly made by Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geosciences, National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and China University of Geosciences (Beijing).

The project team also created the technical standards, process and methods for the compilation of lunar digital geological map, and provided fundamental geo-data and technical support for future compilation of “Full Geological Map of the Moon ” by using the data taken by Chang'E-1 and Chang'E-2.
