Updated :11,17,2015

The 3rd CCOP-CGS Capacity Building for Geophysical and Geochemical Data Processing (in short,IGDP) was successfully held in Beijing, China on November 12-14, 2015. 24 professionals from CCOP member countries such as Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia took part in the training course. Division chief of Department of Science and Technology & International Cooperation, Ministry of Land and Resources Ma Yongzheng, Deputy division chief of Department of Science and Technology & International Cooperation, China Geological Survey Shu Siqi, Manager, Project Operation and Information,CCOP Technical  Secretariat Ms Marivic, Deputy director, Development and Research Center of China Geological Survey Qi Yabin were present at the opening ceremony, and Chief Geologist, Development and Research Center of China Geological Survey Tan Yongjie attended the closing ceremony.

During the training course, ideas on geophysical and geochemical exploration and geologic database construction were exchanged, training on the use of English version of RGIS-IGDP developed by Development and Research Center of China Geological Survey were conducted, and suggestions on the following cooperation were proposed, leading to the fruitful results of the training session. Development and Research Center of China Geological Survey won itself extensive compliments for its strengths in geological information and exploration technologies.

IGDP was launched in 2013, and apart from this time, two sessions of training courses have been held in Kunming,China ever since,in June 2013 and August 2014 respectively.74 professionals from 13 CCOP member countries and neighboring countries took part in the training session.

The training course held for CCOP member countries will yield fruitful results at 4 aspects: firstly, it will promote understanding among each participating country through the presentations made on the geophysical and geochemical exploration activities, data processing technologies and their application in mineral resources, energy and environment exploration and geologic database construction; secondly, by passing on geophysical and geochemical technologies and the application of RGIS-IGDP, it shows and promotes the achievements China Geological Survey have made in this regard; thirdly, CGS has distributed RGIS-IGDP developed by DRC, China Geological Survey to participants as well as the training certificates. Fourthly, it will enable Development and Research Center of China Geological Survey to get a better understanding of CCOP member countries’ need of geophysical and geochemical exploration and geological database integration, which will be beneficial to future cooperation.
